JANE'S ADDICTION Sign With CAPITOL RECORDS

The reformed JANE'S ADDICTION have inked a deal with Capitol Records for the release of their new studio album, titled "Hypersonic". The band, who are now being officially managed by Sanctuary Artist Management (IRON MAIDEN, GUNS N' ROSES, JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER),were signed by Capitol President/CEO Andy Slater, who at one time managed guitarist Dave Navarro and was involved in the band's last tour, according to Hits Daily Double. JANE'S ADDICTION's two classic albums, "Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual De Lo Habitual", were released on Warner Bros., but both Navarro and leader Perry Farrell have solo deals within the EMI family. The CD, the band's first proper studio set in 13 years, was produced by Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, LOU REED) at Henson Recording (formerly known as A&M Studios) in Los Angeles.

Regarding the sound of the new album, Farrell recently told MTV.com, "For the past five years I've been involved in electronic music and production, and I thought it would be great to lend that sound to JANE'S ADDICTION. We started out with that premise, but it was like trying to hold back a rocket. It was impossible to keep the band from taking off around the electronic because the electronic is heartless and absolutely metric and we are living, breathing, gushing, pumping human beings. So we just went for it."
